I've got a Doctor's office that wants to defeat the speaker capability on a single phone due to the employees overuse of the speaker. Even after disciplinary action the individual continues to use the speaker during calls regarding private issues. Does anyone know how to disable the speakerphone on an 18D?

Thanks,

Phil

Screwdriver and snips. You'll also need an external ringer plugged into the auxiliary port, since the ring also comes through the speaker.

Or how about just a single line phone in place of the multiline?

I had a similar situation with a radio station studio.
Touch Tone Tommy is corect...cut the speaker
wires...
But I wired them thru a on/off switch that I mounted on the side of the set.

When the DJ went live on air, he just turned the switch off so as not to have the speaker be heard while "on air"

Maybe your doctor will be ok with a on/off option for certain times of the day
