I am trying to access an 1140e set that has a password already installed, but no one seems to know the right password. i already tried the 26567*738 with no luck, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Money may not buy you happiness, but in MLB it buys you CHAMPIONSHIPS. (27 and counting). MLB,stands for Major League Baseball for you slower Boston Fans!

Hi YankeeNation,

Is the phone registered or viewable under IP sets on the BCM Element Manager yet? If so, go into element manager under Telephony Resources>IP sets>IP terminal details and uncheck the "enable registration password" tab and then reset the phone. Once it resets a message should come up and ask you to enter a new DN without the Password.

Otherwise,I copied this off the wikipedia entry for the IP1140E phone, I've tried it before and it worked on an earlier model 1140E, but maybe someone here has other ways?

Factory DefaultFactory Default 1140 IP Phone

The method to factory reset a Nortel 1140 set is:

**73639[MAC]## – where [MAC] is the MAC address of the phone using the 2 key for A/B/C and the 3 key for D/E/F. You can also think of it as **RENEW[MAC]##.
You can enter this at any time once the IP Phone is powered up. If you have the phone configured for “Live Dial Pad” on a CS 1000, then it must be turned off for this sequence to work.

Let me know your results please.
