Help. Sorry if this is a simple query but fairly new to Access. I am converting a large Excel spreadsheet dbase to Access and having a few probs. I have a form which is used to input staff hours and wanted to set the default value to yesterday to speed up input. I set value to =date()-1 but it never displays. The control field on the table it inputs to is also set to the same default value but no luck. I have another column in the table with same settings and this displays the date I want without any problems. What am I doing wrong???

Are you wanting to update another field on your table with the same infomation or are you just wanting to have yesterday's date show up on your form? If you want the date to be in your table, then in the table you are running the form from, make the default value Date()-1. This will only effect data entered going forward. If you are just wanting to show the date on the form, your formula is right. Make sure you using a text box instead of a label.
