I work in a school where we have over 1650 pupils and 100 staff. We are just changing over to running Windows XP abd have group policy's for security purposes.
We usually use our own homepage as the default url but can't get it to stay with XP. We change the address locally and, when we log back on, it's changed back to the PC's manufacturer's page. We've tried a few registry tricks and been in touch with the manufacturers, but no luck. Any ideas?

A quick search revealed these and many more:

Thanks for that. We've been through the steps mentinoed in the THREAD you pointed us to but still no luck.

You could include a regedit command in a login script that explicitly sets the home page as you want - Eg regedit import file (NT, so REGEDIT4):-

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Start Page"="
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Default_Page_URL"="
[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Start Page"="
