Default system date in Report Parameters

i am creating multiple reports that require a start date and end dates...
my setup is that for the star date/end dates in the SSRS is
prompt is Start Date; NULL values s clicked on..when the report runs, the users has the choice of entering a date or accepting the null values option..
my question is how do I get the system date displayed as a default value ??...

I have used this is VFP with no problems...but I can't get it to work in reporting services...

any suggestion/comments greatly appreciated...

Put =Today in the default value expression section of your parameter.

ok..this is what i have..

name ; startdate; data type = datetime;prompt=start date
default values; Non-queried =TODAY..
and i get th following..

and when the report starts...the filer start date is disable
no date appears and when i click the calender box to the right of the filter, nothing happens...

do i have the correct fields entered...

Yes that is correct. Do you have anything listed in Available Values, and which version of SSRS are you using?

the version is Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Designers
Version 9.00.3042.00
and the available values does not contain anything..

It's disabled? Do you have other required parameters which after selected a value, enables the date parameter?

ok...thanks for your help...i had the following filters
union, startdate, enddate, maskssn...
i move the stardate and endate to the first two filters
and it displayed the defauted system date(today's) date..

thanks again. never would ahve thought about how the postioning of a filter would effect it...
