Can anybody tell me the command to add a default route to an IP routing table?

I want to tell the router to forward all traffic not destined for an address on our network to be forwarded to a VLAN interface on an RSM. The command I am issuing is on the RSM also.

Thanks in advance

Daniel,

Depends..

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 next hop

THis provides the next hop for anything the router doesnt know what to do with.

Policy routing can filter the packets and route to a certain interface.. I did this to take packets coming in on E0 and take the web traffic back out on E0/1 which pointed to a different vendor router.

A static route will overrule the Routing protocol's table so anything static would redirect as you want.

Thanks for the response.

I thought it may be ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 vlan 500 instead of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (next hop IP)

Thanks again,
