Is there a way to set Default Preferences for a User or a Group?

Also, when a user chooses to schedule a report, I want to turn off or hide specific options such as Database Logon. It would be extremely helpful if users only saw the options they need to modify.

Some Default Preferences like the viewer can be set globally for users - but not on a user by user or group by group basis.

To hide options requires the modification of files and scripts - and I have found that this causes nightmares everytime you need to upgrade the software versions.

Perhaps someone knows the "hack" you are looking for.
