Hey all,

I have a user (the only Mac user on my network) who prints to an HP plotter using an Asante print server. He recently moved to a different office, and now he's unable to print to his plotter. I've checked cables, jacks, jack numbers, and everything is connected correctly. I downloaded software to reconfigure the Asante print server but it's asking for a password and my user has no idea what it could be. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joe Brouillette

What is asking for a password? The installed software or the installer before it will continue. If the latter and you are on OSX, you need to determine the administrator's password.

The Asante management software for the print server has been installed, and it has located the Asante print server. Clicking on the print server brings up an Asante window that asks for a password for the print server.

I have purchased LPT cards for PCs, and since this user's G4 doesn't have an LPT port I'm thinking about looking an LPT card for it. Do LPT cards for Macs exist (I'm going to go look now, but as long as I'm here I thought I'd ask)?

Thanks,

Joe
