I use the internet regularly with no problem. I send and get e-mail. All my internet settings are default. But when a program offers a link to their technical service, and I click on the link, I always get "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed." I don't even know what a default mail client is. So I go into e-mail and write them at that address and it works. What setting do I have wrong and what is a client?

Are you using a web-based e-mail interface? The 'mail client' that is required for the link that you clicked would need to be specifically on your computer - like Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.

BTW, this is off-topic for this forum, it would be better asked in forum605.

No, I have none of those programs. I just use the mail tab on compuserve.
