OKay I have created an Intranet site for my local company and tested it out and it worked fine. I had some hotspots that would send email to relevant internal users. This worked fine.

I have since upgraded myself to IE6.0 and now I get this message whenever I click on the email hotspots

COULD NOT PERFORM THIS OPERATION BECAUSE THE DEFAULT MAIL CLIENT IS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED (OK).

It is only on my machine that this is happening

I am using Outlook 2000

What is in the drop down box for Mail under Tools > Internet Options > Programs?

In addition to Paul's:

Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail
When you click on the Mail key, you should see Outlook to the right of the (Default) entry.
