Hello; I've got 6 Windows XP workstation on a Novell 6.0 Small Business Server running Groupwise 6.0.2 and they all display the following message when an email link is clicked while on a webpage.

Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed..

I've tried the obvious fix's by going into Explorer/Properties/Programs and making sure that Groupwise is the selected e-mail client and I've totally removed and reinstalled the Groupwise Client to no evail.. Also if I set the Explorer e-mail client to either Outlook or Outlook Express it works fine so I'm pretty sure this is isolated to the Groupwise Installation and not XP but who knows at this point..

Thanks for your help...

GroupWise usually installs an add on component called:

GroupWise HTML support C3PO

You can check to see if this is installed from Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs.

This allows GroupWise Clients to View/Create HTML messages. I would guess it allows the cilent to call the Browser to view links and also allows the Browser to call the E-mail Client from the Mail button on the Tool Bar and from the Web Pages.
I have always had problems with my systems when both Outlook and GroupWise clients are installed on the same PC's. It is usually a MAPI problem and Outlook seems to win.

If the C3PO is not the problem try removing Outlook, GroupWise and Windows NT Messaging, then re-install Windows NT Messaging and GroupWise.
