Default InfoView

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it´s possible in BOE XI to define a default "My InfoView" to appear the first time a user logs in?

The first step would be to make "My InfoView" the default view when logging in and the second step to define a default "My InfoView" that everyone uses as a standard.

I am not aware of any way this can be done with the tools provided by BO.

I did experiment with modifying a setting in the web.config file within the Infoview web content which implied the ability to set a different starting "page" but it had no effect. It's been a while and I'm at home & not logged on to my server to check which key for you.

It would be good to have a different default page than the standard "XI" screen, or at least the ability to show some other information for first time users.

Many users may want to go straight to the folder that they most frequently use.

Having said that though, you may want to check out a tool from APOS (

http://www.apos.on.ca)

called Object Manager. It has the ability for an administrator to set infoview preferences for one or many users, and it does include reference to starting at a particular "infoview" I think. I have this tool but have not yet tried this function. I suggest that you contact apos to confirm exactly what the tool does here.

I think APOS has this function within their ObjectManager tool for XI, but I haven't played with it much yet....
