default home page is google.co.uk instead of google.com 1

In both IE and firefox, my home page is google.com. However this is getting redirected to google.co.uk. The homepage as stored in IE or Firefox settings never changes, but I am getting redirected. I cannot even manually go to google.com by manually typing in the address, I still get redirected.

Any ideas?

For future reference, www.google.com/ncr takes you to google.com and prevents redirection to other countries' versions of Google.

right now with the awful redesign of Igoogle(in most people's opinions) with the tabs on the left, it isn't so bad to have it set as google.co.uk until they give an option to change back to the old tab style if they ever give that option..
