default gateway

I have windows server 2003 with 2 NIC, one with LAN IP & another with Internet Connectivity. Now the problem is that I want to use LAN IP as default gateway but then Internet doesn't work at all. when I set the second NIC I am able to browse the Internet. could anybody help to set default gateway with NIC 1 and I should be able to use Internet
