is there a simple way to define an additional default gateway in aix other than original when you configure TCP/IP?

johny,

Simply no. In AIX 5.1 you can have > 1 default gateway ( I have not test this) butin AIX 4.3.3 and previous you can only have one default gateway.

Perhaps static routes may provide a solution in your case? but if you have two possible default gateways and you want AIX to use the second one if the first is down you will have to re-configure TCP/IP post problem.
