Good day,

How do I make a font style a default? Times New Roman 10pt has been my default style but it suddenly changed and I'm not sure how to get it back.

I read that one solution is to pick the font I wanted, then exit Indesign. Indesign is supposed to remember the last font I used and will use it as the default upon entering Indesign again. However, that's not working for me. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Open INDD but don't start a doc. Select the font you want. Quit INDD. What you picked should remain the default.

jmgalvin,

I just did what you wrote. Then I opened INDD, everything looked ok until I opened up my documemt and it whiched back to the font I dont want. Any ideas?

Docs that you already created will retain the default font set for the doc. It's easiest to just create a character style for the doc - like TNR 10 pt and use that style.

TNR 10pt was the default font created for the doc and has been working fine. Suddenly, it just switched to another default font as I was working on it today. Funny thing is, it just switched back to the TNR 10pt. I dont know what I did to get it back to normal.

Thanks!
