Default font not working WP7

Using WP7. My default font is Arial size 10. I appropriately went to font/settings/make this the default for all documents. This works OK when I save to Wordperfect. However when I save a doc to ascii dos text and close the file, when I reopen the file, I get a font of Times New Roman size 12 every time. Since I correctly arranged for the default to be Arial 10, what should I do now? -Harvey
