I have a CICS system with eight lines. Two of the lines support a separate office (TELCO sequential hunt group) with four extension. I have the lines in Pool B and the four phones all have them as appear and ring. My Auto-Attendant (CP150) is not answering these lines.

If there is no answer on an incoming call, I would like the call to go to the voice mail of a particular extension. I set that extension as prime on the two lines and initialized the mailbox, but when I call in and let the call ring, it goes to a recording that says the mailbox hasn't been initialized.

What did I miss?

Thanks!

Set the call forward no answer to the vmail extension on the set you assigned the mailbox to. Feature 985 to find out vmail extension number.

Program Call Forward No Answer and Call Forward Busy to the prime set

Do I set the CF/NA on the prime set? It is already set to forward to VM after three rings.

I am not seeing a way to program that on the *lines* only on the sets. Am I missing something?

Make the Prime Set = NONE on both lines
Press F985 and note the DN of voice mail
Go into Forward No Answer under Sets and enter that number/DN
Set the Ring count.

Make the Prime Set = NONE on both lines OK
Press F985 and note the DN of voice mail OK
Go into Forward No Answer under Sets and enter that number/DN - On which set(s)?
Set the Ring count.

The set you assigned the mailbox to.ring count is number of rings till it forwards to vmail

i.e if you created mailbox 225 assigned to ext 225 and 225 is the one told to ring one those 2 lines then Forward No Answer would be on 225
The other sets in that ring group can have mailboxes but you would need to set their rings counts higher as not to answer before 225's mailbox does.

Sorry to be such a pain. I've got things messed up worse now. :)

There are four extensions
230
232 - with VM
245
246 - with VM

Two lines appear on each. Prime set on each line is set to none. None of these phones is in a ring group.

Ultimately, I want the unanswered calls to go to ext 246.

Right now, if I call in from outside on either line, the phone rings twice then the system announces, "The person you have called is not available." If you stay on the line, then the call transfer to the prime set for the other office (for the first six lines).

What setting is causing this short jump to the not available message?

Thanks!

There are four extensions
230 - FNA/FB - none
232 - FNA/FB to VM
245 - FNA/FWB - none
246 - FNA/FB to VM

Not available is usually because a set has Forward No Answer to vmails DN but that set has no mailbox or the mailbox is mistakenly associated to some other DN.

So based on this:
230 - FNA/FB - none
232 - FNA/FB to VM Make sure the ring count is at 4 Remove the Forward Busy Also make sure that their is an actual mailbox 232
245 - FNA/FWB - none
246 - FNA/FB to VM Make sure the ring count is at 3 and Remove the Forward Busy

You need to remove Forward Busy when other sets are told to ring or they will never get a call when the one users is Busy.

If for some reason one of these two lines is on some other set then what you could do is go into each line, make them private to say 246 (this will remove lines from ALL sets, then go back and change them back to Public. Then re-assign the lines back to all 4 sets.

Success! That was indeed the issue. Thank you for your assistance!
