Hi,

I have replaced default error servlet with my own servlet. when an error occurrs, my servlet has been called (because I can see it in the log), but it throws 404 error to the browser.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi,

Check the rules.properties file in the $WAS_HOME/temp directory to see that the URL specified is correct. If the URL is noted here then you should attempt to call it directly.
I use an error.jsp and place it into the document root of the Web Application. This is the more accepted method according to the documentation. Here you can specify different error pages for each type of error being handled.

Hi,

Something I forgot to mention that could save you time. If you are using WebSphere customizable error pages then in Explorer click tools - Internet Options - Advanced and uncheck "Show friendly HTTP error messages" as Explorer by default will supress the output of the WebSphere error pages with its own generic pages.

Regards,
