I was wondering : How do I set the default directory to GET attachments from
(when I create a new memo & click on the attachment icon, I want to be in a fixed directory)

Additionally, is there a way I can set the default 'detach' directory as well ?

Thanks Peter Van Eeckhoutte

Hi,

There is a way to do this!
Notes always presents you the last used directory for attaching and detaching. This value is stored in the Notes.ini on the local machine.

For example:

FileDlgDirectory=D:\temp

There is no easy way to make a distinction between directories for attaching and detaching. However you can set both together in an easy way:

Modify the design of your mailbox and just set the Notes.ini variable each time you open the database, or each time you compose a new memo (Use the Environment statements).

In the first case you will have the correct directory when you attach or detach the first time after you open your mailbox. If you navigate away from this then Notes will remember this as long as you keep your mailbox open.
In the second case each time you open or compose a memo the directory will be set to your default even if you navigate away from it. The choice is yours!

If you need different default directories for attaching and detaching then you will need to create your own buttons with Lotus Script code for attaching en detaching instead of using the standard buttons!

Is this not a helpfull tip? ;-)
