We have an old Compaq Storageworks 14-slot drive enclosure with 13 drives that we want to reuse for another purpose. The drive bay was previously split into two RAID-5 arrays on a W2K system. Now we would like to use it for a new project on a NW6.5 server using a Smart Array 4200 controller. However, we are unable to figure out how to wipe the drive array configuration data so we can reconfigure the array.

Is there a utility or proceedure that will allow us to do this?

well if you have the sys up and running you could go int compaq/hp raid array manager and delete the config from there or you can hook them up with your system disks removed (just to be safe) and boot the smart start cd and run the erase utility....

hope this helps
