Hi

Photoshop 5.5 G4 OS 9.2

The white colour in Background/foreground is magenta.
If we check the swatch pallete - again no white shows from range magenta to black. Have uninstalled and re installed photoshop but still no change. Colours are fine in other applications (eg imageready, illustrator).

The colour settings are RGB, 255/255/255.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

Have you tried re-setting your preferences to default status?

see thread229-1028116

Thanks for responding

Yes we have tried resetting preferences to default status by trashing preferences when we re installed from disk

We have also tried resetting swatches

somewhere I remember that simply re-installing with disks/cd's don't reset the prefs. Try resetting the pref's after re-installing.

Thank you for your responses...

1. I turned off extensions and restarted and photshop worked ok
2. ran Conflict Catcher and identified a problem with the colosync group extensions.
3. disabled colorsync group extensions and re started with all other extensions enabled and photoshop working ok

just need to reinstate colorsync group extensions now.
