When I was looking at mailbox sizes and items, I noticed my Administrator account has 6 items. My question is, is that account recieving any emails from anywhere by default?
Also I tried to loggin as Administrator to check the emails but I wasn't able to. I discovered that Administrator account doesn't have an domain account associated with it, is that correct I am a bit confused, any help will be appreciated.

So what account is your domain admin ID?

well I just want to know is the Administrator account supposed to get any emails? and where can I changed that.
That's all.

By default the admin account will have a mailbox. This account is used to link the POSTMASTER ID which is used for all NDRs. You can change the SMTP alias if you think it is getting spammed. You do that in AD Users & Computers.

yes, my queue always has a few messages and when i check it is pstmaster trying to send to some address. Is that a sign of getting spam? thanks Markdmac.

It could be SPAM related or simply someone mistyping an address. Say your email is hypetektips@company.com and someone was to type hypetechtips@company.com. They would get an NDR from postmaster saying the address does not exist.

A person sending to an account that has been deleted would get the same thing. Postmaster will also send out if there are delivery problems. You AV is probably tied into this account as well. There are lots of valid reasons for this account to have some activity.

I hope you find this post helpful.
