As I design a new Thin Client Envrionment for an new departmental customer I have identified a potential risk. EVERYBODY has their own printer connected to their PC. No, they can't share a network printer.

When I replace their PC's with Thin Clients how would I configure the Thin Client to use a uniquely different printer. Would I need to logon to each Thin Client Device as that client to install printer in that users profile. Then repeat that process for all 10 users.

The department has not chosen Citris vs. Terminal Server yet.

You should be able to connect the printers directly to the Thin Client Device via the LPT port. At least I know that's the case with WYSE WinTerminals. Citrix remaps the LPT port to the LPT port on the Thin Client Device to print.

I'm not sure if you even have to flash the printer drivers on the Thin Client. I didn't have to in my old company. Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA
