I noticed an old thread where someone was having the "parameter definition file missing" error when trying to import a template into winPDM and no one posted the right answer. Here it is:
The procedure is to open the .tpl file in a word editor and change the parameter definition to the correct number to match the phone you're trying to import the template to change. Avaya has a bulletin about this but it's a little off as they specify the parameter definition # whereas you need winPDM to recognize the phone and then find the parameter # there; then you change the .tpl file to reflect that.
MY PROBLEM:
I got past the above. I am able to edit the template and apply to the phone and it takes the programming. It does NOT however take the programming of IN CALL FEATURES. I'm using the section under "system A" then "PBX Settings" then "in call functionality" - this worked for me in the past but now it does not. After applying the template and initiating an active call, when you press the "more" button on the call, the menu only shows "messaging" and "mute" instead of the features I've programmed. I know it's taking the template because I've done various other changes to test and it takes them properly.
Hoping someone else here has knowledge of this. By the way it's an IPO r9.0 Preferred Edition with a bunch of 9608 phones and three 3725 DECT phones. All 3 DECT phones came with no in-call features and I needed to do the above to apply in-call features... it worked then. However, one of the phones needed to be defaulted months later and now will not take the template properly as I outlined above.
Sorry for the long explanation. Thanks in advance.
