DECT R4 Issues

Hi
I'm having a lot of problems with DECT R4 quality of speech and occasional one way tx issues.
I have one system in site A which has all of the dect users and base stations registered to it. Another system is in site B across the road and the link between the 2 is via layer 3 cisco switches. The connections into the switches from each IPO are Lan 1 ports on each. Also connected via a fibre and again through the switches are another 2 buildings. Therefore I have 4 subnets and 2 IPO's and there is a default route in each IPO of 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 via the relevant gateway.
There is apparently QOS on all of the switches so voice traffic is tagged with the DSCP of 46.
I'm not sure if the link between the 2 IPOS's would be tagged, as the documentation states the IPO Lan interfaces aren't tagged but the WAN interfaces are. Either LAN port can behave as a WAN though I think or should the connection from each IPO be using the WAN/LAN 2 port.
I am also seeing jitter and packet loss/delay on fixed IP phones although this is far less noticeable I think than a dect would be. On that basis not sure if the QOS is correct.
Any advise or pointers would be much appreciated

What IPO release and what firmware and boot version is loaded in IPRBS?
Where do you have problems? Just the remote sites or everywhere?

Hi

IPBS 4.1.30 and IPO 7.0.23 and issues seem to be everywhere

You have a long story but nothing tells me what issues you have :)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

4.1.30 is a crap release, I have had a request in with avaya for a fix for months they have said it will be sorted in november this year.

You are better of downgrading it!

Hi

Thanks for your replies.

The issues are one way tx on dect handsets and poor quality speech. What do you recommend downgrading the IPBS to?. The previous release??

Do not downgrade the IPO. Downgrade the IP-RBS !
See here (scroll down) thread940-1658365

Thanks Daveinwearside and Albus for the help. Much appreciated. Will give that a go.

Yep, a downgrade of the IPBS will solve it.

Thanks to you all. Just one last question. Are the handsets ok on the latest release. Am only asking as I have 50 plus on 3.2.23

Yes. Only the firmware 4.1.30 is crap. Boot loader, Handsets, IPO is all OK.
