Hie all, have an Mxe on MCD 4.1 whose IP is 192.168.1.2.Need to connect wireless DECT phones 5602.The DHCP server for the ICP is enabled & has given the base station an address of 192.168.1.14.
So for me to configure the basestation I have to log onto the basestation with my browser using the url 192.168.1.14.The problem is that after I get the home page from the basestation I then get a window which asks for username & password. This is not a mitel window.
username:system
password:password
has failed,1.how then do I log onto the basestation?
2.on wireless device assignement theres no 5602 only 5603&4 which one do I select?
This is my first time to install DECT after my training, can someone please be kind enough to take me step by step.

Best advice is to login to MOL and go to Support... Product Documentation and download the documentation for the DECT Wireless solution.

The default user-name and password are:

Default user-name is: admin
Default password is: changeme

Programming these devices are done in the User and Device Configuration form of the 3300 and the devices for the 5603 and the 5604 have specific devices types where as the 5602 handset is programmed as a Generic SIP Device.

Hope this helps

MOL doesnt always have solutions readily available but solutions would be out there with people who have experienced problems before which leads us to the existence of this forum.

When I try to log onto the basestation I get a log in window which is not from Mitel (i.e. Basestation),why is this?

It's because these basestations are not originally from Mitel.
Mitel acquired the Ascom company and Mitel incorporated it into their systems.

As for the user name and password, Mitel100 has it correct.

But if you are configuring your basestations, you really should follow the instructions; Statically assign the master basestation.

Go to MOL, under Knowledge Base - IP Dect - they have the How to documents.

Follow these docs and you shouldn't have many issues.

Have done exactly the above but what is laid out in the doc doesnt exactly match the b/station that I have, making the step by step difficult to follow.

username:admin
password:changeme
is correct, when I use it to log on it logs on fine then when I do some changes on the b/stn it asks for a reset, when I do the reset I fail to log on again completely.

What software level are you at?

The Basestation comes with 2.0 and you have to bring up to 4.0, then all the slides are exactly the same.
They have the notes on MOL - how to upgrade the firmware to 4.0.8.

If you followed these docs, you would have seen on slide 8, the default User name and Password for the Basestation.

You have to create the 5602 sets as Generic SIP phones on the Mitel 3300, then go into the Basestation and under users, create the users once again.

The Reset, reboots the Basestation, therefore you have to log in each and everytime.

ynotphone,

could I ask which article ID / URL you are looking at when you mention 'slide 8' as I cannot see anything under:
Knowledgebase
IP Dect
which matches this

Thanks, Neil.

When you download the product documentation it comes with some powerpoint slides which guide you through on how to program different areas of the DECT system, including handsets.

sorry to be a pain, can you let me know how you found this documentation on MOL?

I don't recall any powerpoint slides in the DECT 4 software .zip (ipbs_v4-0-8.zip) or on edocs.mitel.com, or under the knowledgebase.

the documentation/slides you are describing sound handy.

I can find the 'Installation and Operation Manual' .pdf ok

MOL...
-> IP-DECT Wireless System (Global) Release 4
-> Configuration Guide - Right Click to download the IP-DECT Wireless System (Global) Configuration Guide.

This is a Power Point presentation, which gives you step-by-step instructions on how to program the Basestation.
