Hi,

I have a sql 2000 server with 190 databases. Most are approx 70 mb in size and all need to be backed up.

The backup takes about 2 hours every night. Is there any obvious way of speeding that up?

Thanks

Not using the SQL Native backup tools. That's really not that long for that many databases.

2 Hours isn't that long. What's the need to increase the backup time?

If you changed the backup job to backup half the databases, with a second job to backup the other half you might increase the speed of the backups. Just make sure that each backup job is writting to a different disk.
