I am looking for a decompiler for programs written in Visual Basic 6.

I have found one VB decompiler, but it only seems to be able to decompile programs that have been written in old versions of VB.

But the program I am trying to decompile is written in VB6 - any ideas on how I can recover the source?

Thank-you

A quick keyword search in this forum for "decompile" would have gained you the information you require.

I'll summarise: VB6, no can do

While reading thread222-753443 (Source Code Analyzer) yesterday I saw that sargeG suggested the use of VB code analyzing programs like VBRezQ, VBReformer and RACE (heard these names for the first time). I found from where I downlaoded the demo version of the program.

Very surprisingly, I found this program decompiling a VB exe file to its sources files. Although the decompilation is too limited, it is still very useful and atleast, it retrieves the Form Designer code that defines the graphical layout of the controls very precisely.

Very useful input from sargeG. I gave him a star. A wonderful program! One of its kind.

I also got the VBReformer site, but did not tried this program yet.
