I need some help here. I have a perlscript compiled with perl2exe and I need to decompile it. I have tried google looking for a decompiler and the only one i can seem to find is exe2perl....unfortunatley i can't find a single place to download it. Is there any other way to decompile a .exe made with perl2exe? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and ask "why?" If you have the right to view the source code, you would very likely have it.

Well you probably won't believe me anyway, but my laptop at work blew up (not literaly) Being stupid I never made a backup of the orignal perl code. Thats all the why I can give you. If you can help please do.

The question was geared to see if the post should be red flagged or not, as most that would ask such have questionable motives.

I believe you, unfortunately, I still can't help. That was always one of perl2exe's selling points, was that it obfuscated the code. Still, googling the exe2perl you mentioned turns up a site that offers me a download on the first hit. Is that not working for you?

Thanks "ICRF" I understand the questioning of my post. Honestly I am just to lazy to rewrite the code (sad isnt it?). Looking for an easy way out. Thank you for your help, but I have already tried that site, with no luck. I appreciated everything.

No problem. I'd guess if the code were recoverable, it wouldn't be in the same for you started with. Seems a level of obfuscation in addition to any "compilation" they might do would have been prudent.

As much as I hate rewriting code, I usually end up with better code in the end. After all, I assume I'm learning and getting better as time goes on, right? Right? At least that's what I tell the boss when raise time comes around. Of course I'm more valuable to the company now... :)
