All,

We had a CCR Exchange 2007 cluster in place with two client access servers, in the past few months we purchased new hardware and installed a SCC cluster and two new client access servers.

We migrated all the mailboxes from the CCR to the SCC and changed mail flow to the new client access server.

Powered down the old CCR cluster & old client access servers for a few to make sure users had no issues.

Not we want to decommission the old CCR cluster & client access servers.

I have decommissioned many Exchange 2000 & 2003 environments in the past but never an Exchange 2007 environment.

Are there any pitfalls to watch out for removing a CCR Exchange environment ? ie. File share witness

Thanks

Interesting that you went from a solution (likely) without a single point of failure to a solution WITH a single point of failure.

Anyways, the FSW gets whacked after you destroy the cluster.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

Thanks Pat.

Any more got ya's to look out for ?

Started the uninstall of the passive node and it has been running now for 5 hours. Has anybody else had a similiar experience ?

Thanks

It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!
