So i've been chasing down some phantom calls that are being placed from the voicemail system: The receptionist that is recieving these dead air calls has taken not of each time that it is happening. The only consistant data I see is the following: Does anyone see anything out of the ordinary from this:

[The last messages say that mailbox 7951 had 6 messages in it when they logged in]

Nothing will tell you who called, just what mailboxes were called, if you what to know the 'who', turn on SMDR.

There are 2 things I now do as standard on all my systems to avoid phantom calls to switchboard.

1) - Do not enable Multiline Set On-hook Dialing in the COS of the VM Ports.

2) - Disable Message Notification for all mailboxes.

Thanks kwb. I recieved info from this user that they have not experienced the issue since I made that COS change

Not Surprised.

This has always been an issue with Set Emulation integrations on Mitel. The set sometimes needs to go off hook for softkey access and issues can occur if the phone gets dialtone. The set emulations know enough to select the prime line key when dialing is required.

The documentation for the SX-200 embedded mail highlights that the equivelent option for that system needs to be disabled (Expand set and set line selection to Manual)

The 3300 default options for Voicemail should not have this option either.
