Deciding whether not to use DTS for integration project

I'm looking at options of doing data integration between pervasive and ms sql, I'm contemplating two options:

1) DTS
2) XML and XSLT

Which would be the better option? I'm looking for

1) Easy of implementation - assuming new to both technologies with background in VB

2) Scalability and flexibility

3) Security
