Have a strange request from customer, they want to know what the decibel level in the handset in 18D phone? The customer is going to place a headset on these phones and wants to know what the decibel level is? We told him and gave him the catalog sheet showing the headsets available for Partner phones, but they want to know the Db level. Any suggestions? I have look at Avaya support for white paper but could find any information.

Well, because there is a volume, the db level can change. I would tell them anything around 10-15 Normal conversation.

Do you know of anywhere that I could get this in printing? customer wants to see it as well! Thanks

I'm not sure this customer is chasing the right information. Why would they want to know handset volume when a headset will be used?

Besides, most headsets work between the base and handset, making the handset readings meaningless. Also, many manufacturers such as Plantronics have their own pre-amp base units. Adding that into the picture completely changes the equation.

If this is about an individual that is hard of hearing, you can explain that amplified handsets are readily available.

Thanks, I was trying to help our MAC department with a customer questions, thanks for the replys, I think I have everything I need on this.
