DEC VNswitch Backplane

Hi all,

I'm not sure this is the right forum to post my question.
I have a Dec MultiChassis which contains three switch cards and three hub cards.
On this equipement, there's a backplane lan connecting the first switch card with the hub cards through four switch ports.
I saw with HP Openview that these ports have periodic utilization burst at 80%.
I wanted to know if this can be considered as a network problem or if it's a "feature" of such an equipement.
In case of the first solution, what should be the remedy.
