Debugging Access Code

Please can anyone help a very confused person?!

I have changed the length of 2 fields in a table which are selected from a screen. When one of the new 'long' fields is selected, I get the error 'the field is too small to accept the amount of data.......'. However, when debugging, I set a breakpoint at the point before I presumed the error was happening and stepped through the code but the error didn't happen. It only happens when running the form, not if the code is interrupted.

It is possible that there is a piece of code running that has set the length or uses the old length setting
