Debug folder

Hi there

Apologies if this sounds obvious to people but I'm relatively new to Dreamweaver. I am editing a site created by someone else and have been doing so for awhile now. For some reason the files that I work on seem to have moved into a "debug" folder. I didn't move them there. What is a debug folder and why would the files be moved there? When I upload the pages using WS-FTP it all works fine, but I'm just concerned as to what this debug folder is all about. Any help would be appreciated.
