I've not used the "standard" strdbg in a LONG time. Prior to my current job, the shops where I was working had their own utility programs (either bought or home based).

Can I step through a program in debug and be able to "see" the values in certain fields as I move through the program?

Also, does anyone know of any "free" websites where I can pick up information on some of the different utilities on the AS400? ie. debug, journaling...

I used to know this stuff and had a mini library at one time but when I left my last job they went away plus my next assignment was using SQL and not rpg. Now that I'm working again with RPG exclusively I want to rebuild my reference materials.

Unfortunately, strdbg does not let you "watch" fields like the interactive source debugger used to let you. You can still display them by either typing eval and the field name on the command line, or pressing F11 when the cursor is on the field.
