Hello everyone,

I was just checking my debout the other day to make sure everything is running fine, and I have a few questions. I am wondering what the following mean and if they are something that should be fixed.

I am also wondering whether it is safe to delete dated subs from 2007, or should I just move them to an external hard drive?

Thank you.

You have the EGI graphics enabled and your EGI.CFG's are a mess somehow. -Not sure without seeing your %IBERDIR%\newdata directory. -Or your Aloha.ini file has schemes defined multiple times which doesn't hurt anything but gives you a nice cluttered aloha.ini file. -Sort the aloha.ini file to easily view it.

EGI caches your buttons on your menu panels for faster screen movement -The first couple of orders after a reboot are usually slow, but the next orders will be really fast -Gotta have a decent video card in terminal to also take advantage of this otherwise disable EGI.

Anyway, you can delete your EGI schemes if you don't really use them. You can take advantage of EGI without having a custom scheme.

-Read AKB 6186 for more info.

You can delete any subdirectories you want. Most restaurants would like to keep at least a year and a half so they can see what they did on a particular day a year ago for business. If the hard drive can keep 4 years worth why not? Doesn't hurt anything. If you have a 20 gig hard drive, then maybe 380 days might be the max you can have until your hard drive is too full. You decide, but most restaurant managers like the historical data so they can see how business was a year or two ago.

Thank you, I will look through the Aloha.ini and EGI.cfg files today and sort it all out.

Also, what should be done about the SQL message?

Nothing. Don't worry about it. It's just informative.

I also found a couple more things:

Jan 26, 11:50:14, [8416], [INFO],,"WARNING: in ConditionRunHBFOH() - File Not Found: C:\Aloha\BIN\.\HBFOH.EXE"

Jan 26, 11:50:14, [8416], [INFO],,"WARNING: in ConditionRunFOHAdm() - File Not Found: C:\Aloha\BIN\.\FOHAdm.exe"

Jan 26, 11:50:14, [8416], [INFO],,"Unable to read data file (1124):
C:\Aloha\DATA\20090125.SCH
File does not exist."

Jan 26, 11:50:18, [8416], [INFO],,"Failed to instantiate InterceptPrinting plugin: PrintIntercept.IAlohaPrintMonitor.1"

Jan 26, 11:50:18, [8416], [INFO],,"Printer 1 on COM1, FIFO Buffer checkbox is checked. Warning! Could cause printing problems if XON/XOFF is used."

By the way, we are using 1 terminal as both FOH and BOH, and we use an Epson TM-T88IV as a check printer and an Epson TM-U220 as a kitchen chit printer.

1.
I found no duplicates in your aloha.ini nor any white spaces that cause strange things to happen.

Do this.. Change this line in your Aloha.ini:
EGISCHEME=29 to:
EGISCHEME=0

I only use EGI for the speed not for the weird colors. You didn't post an EGI29.CFG so I am guessing you don't have it, so just disable the themes.

2.
The lines in the debout about HBFOH.exe and FOHADM.exe:
You have the Aloha RDF (Remote Deployment Framework) installed. Radiant just changed the name to, "Command Center". This allows someone to manager multiple sites for support remotely through a single console.

Usually a reseller has access to RDF (Command Center) and they use it on their customers, or a company like where I work, that has 500 restaurants.. A great PCI compliant remote console.

3.
Disable the FIFO settings on your COM ports. There is only 1 device that requires it on an Aloha POS system, and no one outside of my company can have it or use it.

Okay, I will do the things you suggested. Thanks!

The RDF part of your debout appears that RDf was once installed and removed incorrectly. You can ignore it, it will not hurt anything.

I don't have the list in front of me to tell you what to do to totally remove it, but it will not hurt anything.
