Debian Sarge on PE-420SC

Hello, there.

At the office we bought a new Dell PowerEdge 420SC shipped with two SCSI
73Gb disks and a RAID controller, and I want to install Debian Sarge.

I load the last Sarge 1st CD set ISO and when trying to partitionate the
hard disk the installer says there's no writable media.

I guess my debian-installer has no support for this kind of media.

I've found <

and this document refers to a 2.4 kernel.

Doesn't the 2.6 kernel have support for this Dell hardware?

You might consider installing the 2.4 and upgrading. The 2.4 you are referring was recompiled to have better SCSI support.
