This is rather embarrassing, but I haven't been able to figure this out. I've worked mostly with Windows systems, but I'm working on figuring out Linux, mostly because I like the interface more. I've worked with Linux through GNOME, but I didn't really have time to play around and really figure it out. Now I've got the .iso images for Debian, and I'd like to install it on an i386 build. That would mean all of this is through DOS. All the stuff I have found in my research are not DOS command based. I know DOS, and would really appreciate it if someone explain specifically, or direct me to a place where I can get, the specific DOS commands. I know how partioning works, and I've know about networking and such. All I need is to find out exactly how to start the setup of Linux. Can someone help me out?

Burn the ISO to CD. Boot off of CD, will require changing your boot order in BIOS.

If your computer BIOS is too old, booting off the CD is probably not an option. Then you go make a boot floppy. Boot off the A: and go from there.
