Hello,

I've recently inherited an older Filemaker Pro project that I desperately want to convert to FoxPro 9. The problem is that a vocal minority of the end users are MAC only enthusists (which is why this is in FileMaker to begin with). Is there anyway I can deal with these folks and let them run a fox runtime. Perhaps a third party tool that will allow a MAC compliation or something.

Thanks.

Thanks, I'll look in to it.

More to the point I wished I had just suppressed my knee jerk consultant instinct to just say "Yes" everytime someone asked, "and can you do this, too?

You can accomodate those Mac users. Make it a web app.

The web server doesn't HAVE to be connected to the internet. It can be completely confined to their LAN.

They may not like you for it, but you'll be making the Mac users happy. ;-)

I think the EULA prevents you from running a VFP 9 app on a MAC (unless it's one of the new ones that might run Windoze).

I seem to remember a discussion on here about it before?

That only applies to the runtime version. You can run VFP itself on any os that it will work on, as long as it is the full development version.

That only applies to the runtime version.

Is that why _MAC is still in the language? Should we be putting a test in the Init of all our programs to force a shutdown if the user tries to run them illicitly on a Mac?

I wonder what _MAC holds when a Mac is running Windows?

Geoff,

I wonder what _MAC holds when a Mac is running Windows?

Well, since VFP (5.0 and above) can only run on a Mac via an emulator, it presumably behaves exactly the same as when running under Windows.

Mike
