ok guys i made a speaker box in a one frame one layer movie..actual speakers are sphere with gradient fill..converted to a symbol(button)...in the over frame i changed the fill to different gradient..thus giving the speaker the illusion of thumping..modified instance and ghanged the buttons to movie clips..slowed the fps down to two and came up with this..

when i import this movie into another movie the speaker doesn't thump..why is that..why does it not import the swf.the way it is..what(of course)am i doing wrong?..i want to add this speaker to a movie that is already complete..

Seems to me that you made the symbol the wrong way. Instead of changing the behavior, go into Window -> Library and find your speakerbox. Then right-click it in the window and select Properties. Then change it to a Movie Clip from there. Flash seems to have problems when you simply change the instance from a button to a Movie Clip. Also, are the speakers doing anything at all? Possibly it imports and then reverts to the same FPS as set in the movie it imported into, making it pulse very fast? Maybe not. These are just guesses, but you should try them out and see what happens.

that did not work,thanks anyway..dave if your there some help please..why can't i get this movie to import into another and play as it is..i can make the speaker in the actual movie but the fps in that movie is two fast for the speaker..thumping way to fast..if i slow it down to suit the speed of the speaker the rest of the movie does not play right..what do i have to do to get this stupid little speaker in another movie..

highlight all your frames that control the speaker and do a right-click/copy frames

Open a new movie and right click paste frames

if your whole speaker is contained as a symbol just select it and hit copy...open a new movie and hit paste it will automatically be imported in to the new movie and on the stage.

Ya' Gotta Love It!:)X-)

ok jeff that worked but still a problem..of course now as supra stated when the movie was imported it automaticly assumed the fps of the movie it was imported to..i need the speaker to be about 2 fps...the movie plays at 15 fps..is there a way to import the movie and have it keep it's own fps?..atleast now it's playing but way to fast..oh yeh you got a star..

nope, any loaded movies assume the fps of the original (host) movie.

unless, of course, you opened it in its own HTML frame.

scrap the last 2 statements. Didn't read the thread above. If you've just pasted this into the original movie then just extend the tween. If your fps is 60 and you want a 1sec speaker-thump, just put the keyframes 60 frames apart.

speaker = 2fps

movie = 15 fps

distance between keyframes in speaker tween = 2*15 = 30

load as normal
