dead main carrier G3siV6 power outage 1

I have the main carrier (a) with the processor , tone clock, line card, etc. carrier b works perfect and all it has is analog room packs. saturday morning the electric went out and the hotel owner did not have it on a surge protecter. the main carrier does not work. nothing lights up not even the yellow on the 1217a far right power unit. NO rooms have dialtone and the 302 consol is dead. carrier b the second carrier has a wp91133a power that is fine. I can program the thing but I know nothing about the hardware. should i buy a new carrier or just the power or what. Please help. I have my lab use only on sight to give half the room dialtone

If you do not even have a light on the power unit for the main carrier "a"...you have a dead power unit...All you probably need is a new power supply....(but) if you had a power surge and since this is a "tall boy" cabinet there are buss type fuses in the back lower part of the cabinet behind the "a" carrier..you may want to check those also as you may just have a blown fuse....usually they are 20amp mini buss type you can find at most hardware stores...

Thanks Wellco9530, it was the power supply and now i have an even bigger problem. All translations have been lost. it will not reboot from the pci card. i can login as craft or inads default without the card but it will not let me use the add command.DOES ANYONE know how to recover a pci card memory?

That makes no sense at all...the switch will boot but will not read the card...are you sure you have the card seated correctly? and the correct card in the slot....
If so get ahold of this guy and tell him I said to give him a shout...

It was the main power supply in carrier a. However it is not working. when it boots back up the pci card in the circuit pack in the net con slot there is a problem. the translations are not loaded, or at least it will not let me login under my old logins--none of them. when it is booted up without the pci card it has three levels of login, init, inads, and craft. the defaults works for inads and craft but i cant login as init even under default. G3siV6 and prior. craft and inads do not have the add command so i could not reprogramm even if i tried to. Of course avaya wants a maintenance contract (not happening), however the owner may turn it in on his insurance and go to ip office or a mitel

Your directions and the wise and very intelligent man fixed it all. Problem was the save tra on default. Imagine that. However a wise and intelligent person backed it up the previous time he logged in

An In (and not ads) fixed the switch. I know it is against the rules on posting (or is there a loophole). The great teacher (I nick- named that person Merlin -Magix) Hopefully that person will never be a legind! When the switch was restored they unplugged the INADS line and are bitching about payment. When the g3si\
was in default they called One Source (dallas Ft worth tx) Altura comm (Joan Sharp Cleveland)
Laktech (cleveland, and avaya. I had it fixed as I stated in the previous reply. I gave the lake tech my craft level login and passcode and he I think gave it to the cust.
