Dead Mail not Delivering Automatically

We recently changed our NT 4 PDC to a new W2K server, and included AD. We then had to rebuild our notes server (previously the BDC) to make it an NT 4 File Server (Domino installed on data drive, not main system drive).
However, since oit has come back up, mail 'works' apart from every email now goes to the mail.box as 'dead' and we have to manually release 'dead' mail in order for the mail to be delivered, internally and externally.
This has to be a simple problem./.. yet it is beyond me... can anyone help?
Assume that the new server is the same name, IP, etc, and so is the old BDC, now not a DC (same name, and IP).

You should check the dead mail info first.
Seems like address book corrputed or have problem with other servers, check connection documents Power up your Notes/Domino if you know how to use it!

Q1: what is power?
Q2: what is up?
Q3: what is Notes/Domino? *&%$#@

All connection settings, SMTP, MTA... you name it, we've checked it. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the mail, as when we release it, it goes fine.
The "Failure Reason" field (dead mail info?) is blank.

We have suspected this might be a DNS thing, as with previous server (NT 4), we used WINS, NetBEUI & TCP/IP (rather than just TCP like now). We have had other intermittent problems with the DNS on other issues, as we have only just got this new server running since Sunday. Does anyone else know if Domino/Notes has trouble with M$ DNS?

PS - domino888, what are those other questions about?

You can check the server log file to see if router met any problem while do its work Power up your Notes/Domino if you know how to use it!

We have done this, and know that the SMTP functionality is having difficulty, but just don't know how to handle it.
Besdies that, in half-an-hour, we are about to swap over to our new mail server which is W2K. Hopefully it will function right this time.

:)
