Please help. I have had a black macbook for a little less than a year. I use it for work all day everyday. I have never dropped it and i take very good care of it. A few days ago when i went to turn it on and it wouldnt boot. It just gave me a black screen. So i go into the apple store and talk to one of the "genius's" they have working there. They tell me my hard drive has failed and that it needs to be replaced. That i am under warranty for the replacement of the drive but i will lose all my data. I was wondering if you knew of any Data recovery company in the miami area that could get my data back. I told them not to replace the drive as they would not let me keep the old one if they did. This means i don't have a laptop till i get my data off the old drive. I thank you for any help you can give me.

I had a similar problem with my macbook pro about six months ago. Your lucky cause i wasnt under warranty and they made me pay a thousand five hundred to replace the drive. I used Computer Based Associates for my data recovery. They gave me excellent service and recovery my data very quickly. I have used they again since that first time. They helped me recovery data from a raid 5 array i had hooked up to my mac pro. I suggest you give them a try their website is hope this helps.
