DEAD LOCK occurance- which user/application thred is culprit??

Hi all
in onstat-p iam able to see a number of under "deadlks" how can i drill down which user thread is creating that problem r is there any log which notes when this dead lock occurance is happend . I mean at what activity/transaction that created that..

Actually these errors occur where there is a long transaction processing going on to this the code needs to rewritted or the configuration of log files needs to be increased al to number of logs & logsize.
