We have a BCM 400 3.0 and the hard drive has died.Hard to find a preprogramed 3.0.Can find a 3.5.If we put the 3.5 in a 3.0 system will that work after up load of core to msc .

It should work but you will have to reprogram the VM.

I would, while your at it, upgrade them to 3.6.

It worked but telephony was not avaliable then did a telnet platform INI. This updated the MSC and was able to acess thelphony. The update made the T7316E phones work like E's.

Is the telephony pgm not also on the HD? Would you not have to reprogram that too?

No, the telephony programming resides on the MSC card.

Cook.. I have had problems access element manger. Should I perfome the telnet platform INI?

COMTECHTECH do you have trouble once in awhile or you can't login at all?

The only reason I did an INI was the system was a 3.0 and the hard drive died .Replaced with a 3.5 programed drive. After that i could not access telephony under services in Unified Manager. Then did a Platform INI.It preformed a upload to the MSC that brought the MSC up to 3.5. If you can not access the manager you should check the BFT.

Maybe you're still trying to access the Unified Manager with the older Unified Manager, old port addressing, or incorrect passwords? You did go from 3.0 to 3.5 or 3.6.
