Hi folks!

I've just installed an IP403 with VoicemailPro for a client and we've noticed that when you call the auto attendant and select an option, you get a message saying "Please hold while we try to connect you". This is followed by dead air. At this point, I'd like to have the customer hear some ringing or even hold music, just to let them know that they are still connected. Some clients have hung up, thinking that the call has been dropped.

Is this the nature of the beast? I'd appreciate any insight that anyone can offer.

Thanks in advance!

Connect an audio source to the music on hold input.

Internal MOH can be configured but I would not recommend using it. if the system is rebooted remotley & the manager application is not running on site the music will be lost.

It is not unusual for customers to use the output of the VM pc's sound card to drive the moh input

The "Please hold while we try to connect you" is the default Internal MoH. The silence that is heard is the delay between the frequency of this announcment. It is recommended to use an External music source. If the option selected directs the caller to a Group then Queue Annoucements can also be played at intervals throughout the MoH. The IP Office will not return ring tone.
