Situation: You call a number and it reaches the Nortel Opt 61 which transfers the call to Modular Messaging auto attendant. From the MM Auto Attendant you dial 52-5299 to reach ext 5299. Her phone rings. She picks it up and gets dead air. The caller also gets dead air. If she does not answer, it rings back to her mailbox perperly. Ext 5299 is on the Opt 61.

The MM is a 5.2 Exchange storage using Multi-Site. Calls route properly to the Avaya CM but not to the Nortel. 52 is the leading digit for the California site that has a 4-digit short number and a 6-digit long number for the multi-site rules.

Nortel is using a dialogic gateway. I am told that the configuration note to use is the 88511 for Nortel M1 CS1000 E1/QSIG.

Any suggestions?

i assume that all of the ext numbers on the nortel act like this ? Or is it the only one.

Does it do the same thing on a spell by name transfer ? What gateway model are you using.

Customer says they are using DMG1008DNIW dialogic gateway.
